Woman of the Day – Sally Cruikshank

Sally Cruikshank’s amazing animated characters are like no other.

Her films from the late 70s and early 80s featured Quasi and Anita in a wild psychedelic landscape. One can see how her style influenced many later animators, but she was truly working with her own language.

She also did a good amount of film work in the 80s, and was a heavy contributor to Sesame Street in the 90s.

Her work is not as visible now, but that is all the more reason to seek out her work, whether you have seen it before or not.
