Woman of the Day – Patti Smith

Patti Smith was one of those artists who carried me

through a period of my early 20s that was fraught with some really bad relationships and really insane parties.

She is a mother, a musician, a poet, a visual artist and an activist. She took a generation off of her career to raise her kids. This is a risky thing to to.

Just one of many, many risks she has taken.

Interestingly, Wave was actually my over and over until the grooves wore out album, not Horses.

No, really. This album may have saved my life.

This video has a bit from Ogden’s Nut Gone Flake edited in for some reason. Another story/another time.
