Flashback Film – The Andromeda Strain (1971)

1971 ... 'The Andromeda Strain'

This is the first Michael Crichton book to be made into a movie. It was directed by Robert Wise. It is really disturbing, claustrophobic, frightening, and precise in the telling of the story. I recommend it to anyone who enjoys science fiction that has more  specific detail than flash and awe. It takes place on a single, color-coded set that we easily believe was created by slightly tedious government researchers.  Some find it slow-moving, but I feel it is the languid pace that gives it its realism.
